➡️ About MS Word:-

• Microsoft Word or MS Word is a graphical word processing software and also called documentation software. In MS Word users can type and do some work.
• It was made and developed by company Microsoft.
• The first graphical writing program was Bravo. Microsoft bought the Bravo program and changed its name to Microsoft Word.
• When it first came out, MS Word was not very popular.
• It had a feature called WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) which meant that people can change the visual style of writing (e.g. bold, italic) by clicking on buttons. after that feature, MS Word became very popular.

➡️ MS Word uses & features:-

• A student can learn typing and make reports on it.
• A businessman can make documents, contracts, files on it.
• An old man can type his book and make letters to send to someone. We can use MS Word in schools, offices, banks and at home etc.. almost everywhere.

• Creating, saving and opening documents
• Cut, Copy & Paste
• Spelling & grammar checker
• Word Count (this also counts letters and lines)
• Inserts pictures in documents
• Use shapes, graphs etc..
• Creating tables and maintain data
• Displays synonyms of words
• Mail Merge
• Prints in different ways

➡️ Methods to open MS Word:- There are three basic methods to open MS Word 1. First Method Click Start - All Programs - Microsoft Office - Microsoft Office Word 2007 2. Second Method Click Start - Type "Word" in search box, then click on Microsoft Office Word 2007 3. Third Method Press Start + R button in your keyboard, then type 'Winword" in Run Command box. Then Click OK button or Press Enter in keyboard. ➡️ MS Word menus, tools & options:-

• Title Bar: which contains quick access toolbar, a title and minimize, maximize, close button.
• Menu Bar: which contains ribbon, groups, menu tabs, dialog box launcher and help button.
• Left and Right Indent: These are used to set indentation or position in any text or paragraph. a) Left Indent contains three buttons including first line indent, hanging indent and third button itself is left indent. b) Right Indent contains only one button which is used to indent text in right.
• Scale or Ruler: It is used for measurement, indentation and margin of page. There are two rulers in MS Word (Horizontal Ruler & Vertical Ruler).
• Margin: It is blank space, we leave in left, right, top and bottom sides of page.
• Scrollbars: These are used to scroll page in left-right and up-down direction. There are two scrollbars in MS Word (Horizontal scrollbar & Vertical scrollbar).
• Status Bar: It shows the status of document pages, words views and zooming. It contains page counting, word counting, document views(print layout, full screen reading, web layout, outline & draft), zooming.
• File Menu: contains commands related to files.

➡️ MS Word File type and Extension:-

• Files created in MS Word are called documents
• Extension of old versions of MS Word files was .doc
• Extension of MS Word 2007 files is .docx
